London – Lee Valley

Two nights at Lee Valley campsite, Sewardstone, near the River Lea and King George’s Reservoir. Lou realised she had been there 4 years ago! Got there late on Friday then off into London by bus on Saturday. Brekkie at the amazing Tram Store in Clapton then down to the Barbican for an architectural tour. Concrete brutalism, with the first people moving in in 1969. Designed as a model of a self sufficient town. It was built to increase the population of the City London and resembles a fortress, looking inward rather than outwards. It actually made us want to live there… Then off to Tate Britain to see Cornelia Parker. Not so sure about this one 🤔 Food at St Pancras then tube and bus back to the campsite. Had a quick look around River Lee canal and then home.

Peak District

Sunday night at Dale Farm campsite, 5 mins from Great Longstone village. A trip to the White Lion and then a little loop around the Monsall Trail, in the drizzle. Back to the van for delicious curry.
